How did I get to where I am today? I want to clear something up, I am not where I am because of my parent's money & I get everything handed to me. Actually,

About Me

My name is Haley Stevenson and I am currently a sophomore at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. For my spring semester 2017, I am fortunate to be able to be studying abroad in New Zealand at the University of Auckland.

I've never been a person to just remain in one spot all the time, I always have to be going somewhere, whether it be exploring new places or reminiscing in the old. Growing up, I knew studying abroad was something I wanted to do and was going to do, it was just all a matter of when and where. Originally attending college at University of Wisconsin-Marinette, abroad travels were in my long future. Unexpected transferring to Green Bay, I found myself applying to the New Zealand studying abroad program just to see what would happen. Next thing I knew I got my letter of acceptance and studying abroad became one step closer to reality and one step farther from a dream.

I never thought of New Zealand as a place to go abroad, it's always been somewhere like France or the United Kingdom. When UWGB presented the possibility of New Zealand, I fell in love with the idea more and more. This country has everything I could ever dream, from top education at the University of Auckland, a beautiful campus in the city but right close to the wonders of the country, beach, and mountain sides, which will allow me to further understand new depths of Psychology and Mental Health, than I ever thought possible. To endless hiking trips where I can get lost in the stars at night and to even brand new experiences like scuba diving & kite surfing.

I want to be able to call New Zealand, my seven wonders of the world in just under 104,000 square miles. I want to be able to fall in love with the world again, that maybe finding myself in nature will restore hope for what has and will become of our worldwide future.

Follow me & live a part of my journey with me as I tackle on this new opportunity in life. We'll open our eyes to new cultures, new ways of teaching, and become a part of something we never dreamed of.
